We had a small group of three hikers for a snowshoe from the Peterson Sno-Park on DIM to the South Brown Mountain Shelter on the PCT and then back via the snowmobile trails.
The weather started out in the high 30s and was in the mid 40s by the end, so it was quite pleasant. It started out as overcast, but by the end the sun was out.
After negotiating the snow bank on the side of DIM the trail had been broken by some snowshoers and skiers, but after half a mile or so, it was just ski track, which made it a little more difficult.
After lunch at the shelter, we were following snowmobile tracks and did run into two ladies skiing out to the shelter. We were able to easily find the cut off trail, which eliminated most of the walk on DIM back to the car.
Overall we went 4.8 miles with about 300 feet of elevation gain.
